Exercising for peace of mind

Doing exercise can seem like a chore sometimes, but there’s no doubt that whenever and wherever you do it, you’ll feel good about yourself afterwards. This is because exercise and any other form of physical activity makes your body produce endorphins. These are the chemicals in your brain that are released to reduce pain and boost pleasure. These are also the same chemicals that are released when we eat or have sex! So exercise has to be worth doing, right?!

Doing regular exercise has been proven to make you feel happier, increase energy levels, help with skin health and help with relaxation and sleep quality. All of these things contribute to peace of mind. Exercising is an incredibly simple way to both exhilarate and relax, provide stimulation and calm, and also counter depression and stress.
Another reason to exercise? It’s such a great opportunity to “escape” from your daily routine and enjoy time with friends, build relationships away from the office, and have some well deserved “me time”. If you think of it as a form of recreation or play, you still your mind and distract it from the worries of daily life, focusing on the task at hand. In turn, this leaves the mind to think creatively and think ‘outside of the box’.

So what do you think? Will you be writing exercise into your daily routine for peace of mind?
